CME CREDITS
Universal U offers up to 10 CME credits!
Participants will receive certificates from the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) documenting that they completed the educational program and obtained one (1.0) CME credit per hour of didactic learning and one-half (0.5) CME credits per hour of interactive learning equaling 5.0 CME credits per each of the two sessions.
AGENDA
Universal U offers a focus on the peripheral vascular space. Vascular modalities are split into two separate sessions.
The arterial session in the morning (8:00am - 12:00pm) features lower extremity arterial, aortoiliac, carotid, and ABI/PVR.
The venous session in the afternoon (1:00pm - 5:00pm) features lower extremity venous DVT, lower extremity venous insufficiency, iliocaval, and pelvic. Lunch is included for participants of either session.
BLENDED LEARNING
Universal U educates via the Blended Learning Model, which optimizes educational efficiency by using a combination of e-learning programs for priming and live ultrasound training.
E-learning programs are effective for priming participants because concepts are introduced early, within a concentrated home setting, as opposed to immediately within a social setting. Participants can complete content with absolute focus from the comfort of their home and on a flexible schedule in order to avoid interfering with their time in the field. Having each participant complete the prerequisite online content ensures that everyone starts the live training program at the same conceptual level, regardless of their clinical background. Having each participant complete the prerequisite online content allows the instructors to breeze through the fundamentals in order to focus on more advanced, more clinical concepts that can be utilized in the field.
E-learning programs exceed the results which simple online videos can achieve. Universal Ultrasound e-learning programs are provided via a learning management system (LMS), which offer participants a personalized landing page to view selected content as well as interact with their instructors and other participants. Quizzes and benchmark testing are provided for each chapter to genuinely assess conceptual understanding and incentivize participants to rewatch the content until they are able to answer each question confidently.
Education is not concluded upon completion of the on-site training program. Participants are granted 12-month access to the e-learning program in order to continually refresh and consolidate the information. The Universal Ultrasound team also follows up with the course participants to track post-training progress, identify long-term obstacles, assist in making sonography program changes, and maintain a long-term educational relationship.

Knowledge is mastery of ultrasound concepts, which are covered in-depth throughout the e-learning program and didactic presentations of the live course. Skill is mastery of ultrasound technique, which is continually drilled during the lengthy interactive training stations. Realization is the application of knowledge and skill in the real-life clinical field. The idea of realization lies behind every single module. Our goal at Universal U isn’t simply to check off educational boxes; our goal is to ensure that every concept you learn and every skill you practice can be immediately, efficiently applied once you return to your healthcare setting. Mastery should be both permanent and tangible. The result of your mastery should be seen every day through improved diagnostic studies and improved patient care, not simply as a certificate hanging on your wall.
